Wednesday, April 96:30—7:30 PMSchiesske Large Meeting RoomAshland Public Library66 Front St, Ashland, MA, 01721

We've been huge fans of Tuesdays with Morrie and now we have the opportunity to speak with his son, Rob Schwartz, and photographer Heather Pillar to learn more about this seminal story while also delving into more details which will round out the legacy of Morrie for us. We hope you'll join us for this important discussion!
For 30 years, Morrie Schwartz's wisdom has resonated with people around the world largely due to the beloved, best-selling memoir, Tuesdays with Morrie. Photographer Heather Pillar collaborated with Morrie during the last six months as he battled ALS. Memento Morrie: Images of Love and Loss (Daylight Books, 2024) illustrates Morrie's philosophies through photographs paired with captions illustrating what makes life worth living.
Written by Morrie himself and edited by his son Rob Schwartz, The Wisdom of Morrie: Living and Aging Creatively and Joyfully (Blackstone 2023) is a profound and beautiful book by Morrie from a previously unpublished manuscript. Its theme is how to experience aging as a positive, creative, and connected experience. Morrie taught people how to live fulfilling lives with love. “It is by facing fears of death that we learn how to live."
Heather Pillar, photographer and teacher, has lived, taught and photographed in seven countries over four continents during the past 27 years. Her personal and collaborative photographic projects reveal her ongoing interest in women, girls' education, and aging.
Rob Schwartz is an entrepreneur, writer, music and film producer, and son of Morrie Schwartz. Rob is editor of The Wisdom of Morrie (Blackstone Press, 2023) .
